MayaStar 7.0 for Maya 2014 thru 2020 MAC

Versions of Maya older than 2014 many features and functions of MayaStar may not work. The older the version of Maya the less likely new features will work.

For Mac download and unzip file. Copy all files except the PyMEL folder or file inside it to your
Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/(YEAR of your Maya)/scripts.

Keep in mind that the Library folder is by default hidden from user. You have to either access the path directly in Finder from the menu or make the folder permanently visible (view options in user home directory if memory serves).

If you had Maya open when copying files close Maya and restart it.

------------------ IMPORTANT ------------------

MayaStar 7 requires PyMEL to be installed. PyMEL is an option when you installed Maya. If you don't remember if you installed PyMEL that is OK.

After you installed MayaStar open Maya and drag the "auto_install_pyMel.py" file, that is in the zip folder, onto an empty scene. This will cause it to run and install PyMEL if it isn't already installed. If you already had PyMEL installed it won't do anything.

((((( NOTE: You must unzip the "auto_install_pyMel.py" file. You can not drag and drop it into an empty Maya scene directly from the zip folder. )))))
