PyMEL Auto Installer Now Works for All Versions of Maya 2019 and Newer
MayaStar 7 requires PyMEL to be installed. When you installed Maya there was an option to also install PyMEL. Maya installer has even been known to not install PyMEL even though it had been selected. If you are not sure if you have PyMEL installed or not you can download this zip file and extract the "auto_install_pyMel.py" file.
You must extract it. Then open your Maya and in the empty scene just drag the "auto_install_pyMel.py" onto it. The code will run and install PyMEL if you don't have it. If you do have it nothing will be installed. The "auto_install_pyMel.py" file works with older versions of Maya as well and just been updated to work with all versions of Maya 2019 and Newer.
As usual the normal disclaimers apply that you do this at your own risk and we are not responsible for any damages. I ran this file a bunch of times on my own computer and no harm came to it. It is very simple code. You can even open the py file in a word processor and look for yourself.
(NOTE: This auto installer will install the latest version of PyMEL that is correct for the version of Maya you drag the "auto_install_pyMel.py" into. Autodesk has stopped shipping PyMEL with their new releases since Maya 2024. So this "auto_install_pyMel.py" will come in handy in the future.)
